Features of Apple A11 Bionic Chip:

  • The Apple A11 Bionic is manufactured by TSMC using a 10 nm Fin-FET process, containing 4.3 billion transistors with 2 high-performance CPU cores and 4 power-efficient CPU cores operating at a clock speed of a 2.39GHz and 1.42GHz respectively.
  • Monsoons are 25% faster and Mistrals are up to 70% faster than the A10 including a three-core GPU, M11 motion coprocessor and an updated image signal processor. The A11 improves multi-threaded tasks with a new performance controller. It can utilize all cores simultaneously.
  • The performance of A11’s three-core graphics processing unit (GPU) and an M11 motion coprocessor is 30% faster than A10.
  • The A11 includes two completely innovating features that are
  • A new image processor, and
  • Dedicated neural network hardware.
  • The job of the image processor is to support lighting estimation, wide colour capture and advanced pixel processing. The neural network hardware is called “Neural Engine” that can perform up to 600 billion operations per second.
  • The A11 can back up the most complicated graphic function i.e. 3D face recognition under unfriendly conditions.
  • The energy saving mode, to back up the prolonged battery life, is a runner-up with a new energy efficient microarchitecture.

Apple A12 Bionic Processor – Specification and Gaming Experience

The “Neural Engine” is a double core design with a high stance to perform various operations in an instance.
