Is it worth to buy Jio Phone Next?
The new 4G smartphone from Jio, offers a list of Google-backed features, has been developed in collaboration between Google and Jio. The regular cost is set Rs. 6,499 whereas you can get it at Rs. 1,999 with the recharge package of 18 months or 24 months. It offers a custom-designed Pragati OS including basic features like low-cost smartphones available in the market.
According to my opinion, Jio Phone Next is not worth buying because of so many reasons. First of all, the smartphone is overpriced. The features offered by Jio Phone Next is very basic for Rs. 6,499. There are a lot of smartphones available in the market in this price range which offers better features than Jio Phone Next.
Jio Phone Next runs on Pragati OS that is a tweaked version of Android 11 Go Edition. The custom operating system is preloaded with Google Voice Assistant, language translation, and a read-aloud feature. It supports 10 distinct languages including Hindi.
The JioPhone Next has a customized camera loaded with basic tweaks. It integrates the augmented reality (AR) lenses of Snapchat and can take photos at night and low-light. To share Apps, photos, songs, and videos without the internet, the phone offers a Nearby Share feature.

Jio also claims that it is capable of receiving major updates for 3 years including enhanced customization and security patch updates for the next 5 years. Jio has added a locked-in system. It means you can’t use any other SIM to access the internet except Jio. It can support 4G only with Jio SIM, otherwise, you can’t even access 2G connectivity with other SIM.
Overall, there are a lot of smartphones available in the market with better specifications and features at the almost same price. In this price range, you will get a bigger screen, a better processor, and a bigger battery. Among its competitors, Jio Phone Next would face a lot of trouble to stand out market. Even it can’t stand out with such features.
