There was a rumors about Windows 11 – new operating system by Microsoft floating around a couple of weeks ago. But, Microsoft has officially released Windows 11 on 24th June, 2021.

Everyone is waiting for availability of Windows 11 and Microsoft has claimed to provide Windows 11 to all the Windows 10 user for free.

In today’s topic I am going to tell about basic information of Windows 11 which is important to know. I will describe about the price of Windows 11, release date of it, compatibility – minimum requirements for getting Windows 11, and all new features accompanied with the new operating system.

Windows 11 Release Date

Windows 10 is not the last version because Microsoft has released Windows 11 on 24th June, 2021 officially. Including that, Microsoft has revealed some Features & other updates regarding Windows 11.

Microsoft says that Windows 11 will rolling out as a free upgrade for Windows 10 users. But, everyone will not get the update straight away. Until the Windows 10 support will drop in 2025, the Windows 10 users cannot upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10.

These all are commonly available in today’s PCs or Laptops with in budget price. And the Laptop or PC with such configuration is very compatible for updating Windows 11.

Comparing with Windows 10, Windows 11 will delivers a bunch of new features and upgrades. The new Windows 11 features a new user interface (UI) design, new store, and many more. Microsoft has simplify their UI in as many areas as possible, creating a clean, fluid space for work and play.

1.  Windows 11 New UI

The first change you will see with the new Windows is the new UI. Then you can see the changed App Icons with this update. Software Windows and Tiles are expected to have rounded corners which delivers a fresh look to the Windows 11.

All new floating taskbar menu is designed where the start menu, the action center, and the menus are separated from the taskbar.

This update also change the action center. The Action Center and System Tray has been tweaked to split the Notifications and Quick Actions. Quick Actions, also known as Quick Settings will appear while clicking on the System icons. It will allows you to connect to a Bluetooth device or Wi-Fi network, night light enabling, configure focus mode, and so on. Including that a new out of box experience, modern File Explorer UI, and lock screen is there.

Microsoft is also delivering a new “Widgets” panel featuring with To Do, Photos, Calendar, and news from MSN. Microsoft has claimed that Windows 11 with its features like Auto HDR, Direct Storage, and DirectX 12 Ultimate, is built for gamers.

2. Elegant Using experience

It’s great to make a touch experience in Windows 11 where Microsoft has focused on making a good touch experience. To make faster and fluid use, Microsoft has loaded a number of new features and gestures in Windows 11.

By increasing the size of hitboxes around the app window, Microsoft makes easier to resize the app while touch using. Also a bunch of new animations are involved to make touch experience more faster, fluid and native to OS while manipulating windows.

Now, users can use three or four finger gestures to open Task View and swipe away apps. Including this, you can make single tap, double tap, tap and hold, opening an app using Surface Pen. With an updated UI, Pen Workspace allows you to pin any app for quick launching.

Also, Microsoft has added a brand new features such as theming support, new emoji panel integration support for GIFs in Touch Keyboard with SwiftKey.

3. New Dashboard

Windows 11 is expected to come with a new dashboard. This new dashboard allows you to check out the most using apps and get an overview of your Microsoft account. The users can also check recent documents, upcoming calendar events, to-do lists, and many other things.

4. New Windows Store

With a change UI, Microsoft Store seems to be updated app developers uploading their apps. Microsoft provides its own apps like Office, Teams, and Visual Studio to the Microsoft Store. They tries to show their seriousness towards the new Store effort to the world.

They also hope other app developers like Mozilla and Adobe might follow suit. Microsoft has claimed that Android apps will be supported on Windows 11 and the user can download those apps from the new Microsoft Store.

5. Run Android Apps on Windows 11

Windows 11 allows users to run Android apps on their PC or Laptop. The Amazon App store has been integrated with the Microsoft Store by Microsoft in Windows 11. To install Android apps on the PCs and Laptops, the user need to download Amazon App Store.

6. Widgets Section

Windows 11 provides a new widgets section that you can access from the taskbar. The widgets section includes calender, weather, news, your to-do list, and more. As the widgets section is customizable, the users can customize widgets as per their need or preference.

7. Snaps Layout

Snaps Layout is one of the best features given in Windows 11 for the people who work on multiple apps at a same time.
